Ruth, a great story of loyalty and God's provision, is set in the midst of Judges, a time of great dysfunction in the history of Israel.
From this tory we learn that:
1. We are not defined by the culture around us. Gos was at work in the time of the judges and in the lives of a jewish family in pagan Moab.
2. We can not predict how God will work. He seems to low coming through when the situation seems hopeless from the human perspective.
3. Everything ultimately revolves around Jesus. Gods intervention in the lives of Ruth and Naomi ultimately contributed to the geneology of Jesus.
