When you think of what is most important to you, what comes to mind? Is it your family, career, or money? Matthew 6 tells us that all of these things are considered treasures and all of them have an expiration date. Nothing is wrong with these things on their own, however when they take top position in our lives, they will often fight with God for priority in our hearts. When something goes wrong, where to do you find yourself running first? The things we treasure most often reveal the contents of our hearts. Jesus urges us examine our hearts and not cling tightly to treasures that are here today and gone tomorrow, but to store up eternal treasures that will never rust, perish or wither away.
