Having finished his earthly ministry, Jesus has not retired to the heavenly places to sit back, put his feet up and relax. Far from it- In his place of exaltation, he now lives to intercede for us, actively reigning and ruling over all things. And, as the resurrected Son of God, he does this as a man. We might think the disciples were sad when Jesus left them to be with his Father. On the contrary, 'they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.' May these next three weeks on the Ascension of Christ evoke the same response from us.
