I am sure that all of us have had experiences of LOVE and PAIN throughout our lives. Both are part of the human condition, I could affirm that no one is exempt from the possibility of experiencing them and I also know that we have the freedom to decide how to act in front of them.

Etty Hillesum is a vivid testimony of what happens WHEN LOVE BEATS PAIN, and when we say "pain" we include illness, suffering, and other situations that lead us to it.
