This pair
is now despair,
when one is left,
in solitaire,
saddled to love's
worst nightmare,
a lonely ride
we all must share,
when beauty once
beyond compare,
dissolves beneath
an angry glare,
and passion fades
without a prayer,
a pain that souls
can hardly bear,
two broken hearts
beyond repair,
I know this grief,
I've spent time there,
when seeking love,
take care, beware,
its ruins lie
most everywhere,
we're human and
we're prone to err,
so cherish love,
but be prepared,
to watch it vanish
in thin air,
and leave you
standing unaware,
that life could be
so damned unfair.
as you stare at the back of
one who no longer cares
to share with you
when love is through
you pay that sorrow in blues
when someone else has
just used you like a Kleenex
and then tossed you aside............
