On Sunday, we continued Season 3 of Binge the Bible by stepping into one of the most honest moments in Jesus’ teaching.
As Jesus prepares His disciples for the cross, He does something deeply pastoral: He tells them the truth about what obedience will feel like. He doesn’t promise clarity, comfort, or applause. He names loneliness, scattering, and trouble, so they won’t misinterpret faithfulness as failure when things get hard.
Jesus reminds them that the Kingdom of God is not established through visible victory, but through obedience that often looks like loss before it looks like triumph.
One truth to carry into this week is this: Faithfulness often feels like abandonment before it looks like victory.
If you’re in a season where obedience feels lonely…
If silence has stretched longer than you expected…
If things feel scattered instead of settled…
Hear this clearly: you are not alone, you are not abandoned, and the story is still moving.
