I enjoyed this book very much

I enjoyed this book very much. Marta has a ability in her writing to develop characters till you feel you know them. You are drawn into the story and into their lives, and soon you are pulling for them, when they are going through tough circumstances. You find yourself wanting to support them, and see what happens next. The suspense builds well, and it really keeps you reading, unable to put the book down until you see what happens next.|

This is book 2 in the series and the main characters are Sarah and Aaron. They were once friends as children and now they are grown. Sarah always cared deeply for Aaron but he married another young woman and they had 2 children together. She passed away later on, and now in this story you see the relationship develop between Aaron and Sarah as Sarah is to some degree stalked by a mystery person who is trying to hurt her or even kill her because of some nefarious reason. Aaron becomes more protective of her and as he does he realizes what a wonderful woman she has become and how sweet and loving she is to his daughters and his heart begins to open up to her.

Sarah has accepted her lot in life as a unmarried woman but she does still look at Aaron with eyes of love and shyness whenever he is around. As the story unfolds she is working in a quilt shop and restores old quilts and makes new ones, her lot in life seems to be a daily routine that is well established. Then trouble comes in their lives in the entrance of a mystery, barns burning down, and Sarah discovers the first one. Someone is plotting to get the land sold through burning down buildings and there is a mystery company bidding for them, and no one knows how they want to develop the land. Sarah, because she was first to discover the first fire, comes under the scrutiny of the person who set the fires and he is now trying to hurt her or kill her.

Truly this book is a wonderful read, and you just feel as if you know each person, and honestly it seems like it would be a lovely place to live.

I have read several of Marta Perry's books, and I have never been disappointed. They are always the kind of book that keeps you reading long into the night, until your eyes no longer want to stay open. The characters endearing and well developed, the plot line one with twists and unexpected turns. The book a worthy read. I hope you will try this and see what a great story teller Marta is.
