What happens when someone wants your attention and you don’t have it?

In this episode, we talk about social energy, nervous system capacity, and the pressure to be “nice” when your body is asking for privacy.

For ADHD and neurodivergent adults, social capacity isn’t consistent. Some days we’re open and relational. Other days we’re inward and conserving. But when we’ve been conditioned to manage other people’s comfort, those quieter days can come with shame, obligation, and self doubt.

We explore:

• Why you don’t owe casual people explanations for your energy

• The difference between kindness and self abandonment

• How boundary violations change the nervous system’s response

• When silence, neutrality, or “nothing” is actually the most honest response

• What real attunement feels like and why it’s rare but possible

This episode is for anyone who’s tired of performing politeness at the expense of their own energy and wants permission to honor their capacity without apology.
