When the Books Are Opened

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life…” - Revelation 20:12.

Picture that moment. The earth is silent. The powerful and the humble, the famous and the forgotten — all standing before the same throne. Nothing else matters now — not money, not looks, not status. What matters is what’s written… in the books.

Every choice, every word, every hidden thought — all recorded. Not to shame us, but to reveal who we truly were when no one was watching. Those books aren’t books of accusation — they’re books of truth. They show the real story of every heart.

Then it says, “another book was opened — the Book of Life.”

That one doesn’t list sins; it lists names.

The names of those who accepted Christ’s forgiveness and let Him rewrite their story.

Because only those who gave their hearts to Jesus have their past erased by the blood of the Lamb.

But here’s the sobering truth: many live as if that day will never come. They chase after success, pleasure, and approval — but forget what matters most: being ready to stand before God.

Young friend, nothing in this world is worth losing your name in the Book of Life.

Heaven longs to see your name there — written, saved, eternal.

Today there’s still time. The books are still being written. And the Author of Life is offering you a new page — clean, fresh, ready for a new beginning.

Before the books are opened, let Christ write your name in His. Give Him your life — not later, but now. Because when that day comes, there will be no excuses — only what was lived… or what was forgiven.
