Bible Study with Mum

When the Heart Refuses to Trust God

Listen Later

In this episode 3 of Bible Study with Mum, we move deeper from doubt into a more serious and often misunderstood issue: unbelief.

While doubt can be a struggle within faith, unbelief is aposture of the heart that refuses to trust God, His Word, and His promises. Left unaddressed, unbelief quietly robs us of rest, peace, and the inheritance God desires for us.

Using Scripture, we explore how unbelief develops, why evenbelievers can struggle with it, and how the Holy Spirit lovingly leads us back to truth.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The difference between doubt and unbelief
  • Why unbelief is described as a sin in Scripture
  • How unbelief prevents us from entering God’s promises
  • Biblical examples of unbelief, including the Israelites in the wilderness
  • Why an entire generation missed God’s promise in Numbers 13
  • The role of the Holy Spirit in convicting, guiding, and restoring us
  • Practical, biblical steps to overcome unbelief
  • How parents can support faith journeys with prayer, not pressure

This episode reminds us that unbelief does not change God’spromises it changes our ability to receive them.

But the good news is this: God is patient, His Spirit is present, and faith can grow again when truth is embraced.
