“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8

Jesus not only gave us his demands of discipleship – deny yourself, take up cross daily and follow me – he gave his dynamic power. “I will ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor, the Holy Spirit…” (John 14:16-17). The word Counselor or Comforter is paraklete in Greek meaning one called alongside to help.
