Loved this intimate story of people's lives, passions, compassion and struggles to survive. This is a very personal tale set against a backdrop of history's most earth shattering periods

Beautifully written

A fascinating and touching subject; this was utterly compelling from start to finish, with truly lovely turns of phrase and well rounded characters.

Refunded

This may well have been a great book but sadly I couldn't cope with the narration. The delivery was painfully slow, so much so, that it made it impossible for me to follow the story. I listened to about half an hour but then applied for a refund.
