April 9, 2023 . . .

Mark 16:1-8 . . . What a difference a day makes!  A lot can happen in 24 hours.  Joy to sadness, rich to poor, life to death.  But on the morning when three women went to the tomb of our Lord Jesus Christ to anoint His body with sweet spices, they did not find what they were expecting.  He was gone!  Instead, they found an angel who explained that He had risen.  The women were afraid and amazed at the same time.  On that day, the world changed.  The deep sorrow they had felt the day before was replaced by a new exciting, but perhaps a little confusing, emotion.  Telling the truth about the resurrection could be dangerous.  But Jesus’ work was not done.  He was seen by over 600 people before He ascended to Heaven.  Some people died because of their testimony that they saw Him.  Some were afraid to tell the truth about the resurrection so they did not say anything.  Friend, the tomb is still empty.  Our job is to tell the truth about Jesus’ resurrection and His soul saving salvation to anyone and everyone who will listen.  The Son has come up and we need to wake up the world!
