In life, there is a value that we have understood in which we should honor our elders. God’s Kingdom has a culture which includes the virtue of honor, but the young are included in this. We see this dynamic lived out when Samuel, “Today’s man” anointed David, “Tomorrow’s man.” Samuel boldly stepped out exercising his responsibility to carry out the prophetic act of anointing David, which represented the conscious approval of God over his life. Now is the time for the elder,“Today’s man” to honor and anoint the lesser/younger man (“Tomorrow’s man”) and walk into the future together so that God’s Kingdom may be blessed here on earth.
