When Truth Becomes Dangerous

Listen Later

Dearest Empowered Wayers:

Yesterday, a voice was silenced.

Not by argument. Not by debate. By a bullet.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated while speaking his truth on a college campus in Utah. And with that shot, something rippled through the collective soul of anyone who dares to speak what others might not want to hear.

Regardless of your politics or opinion, that kind of intentional violence lands in the collective nervous system. It pulls on the invisible threads that connect us. It whispers, “You’re not safe. Be quiet. Stay small.”

And so I sat with the fear.

I breathed into it and I asked it what it needed. And beneath it, I heard a quieter voice say:

“You don’t fight fear with more fear. You dissolve it with Love.”

Here's what I know about fear:

* When you listen to it, it is never satisfied.

* When you resist it, it grows stronger.

* When you feel it and allow it to move through you— Love leads the way.

Fear restricts and contracts. Love expands and grows.

Love doesn’t bargain with safety.

There are moments when speaking your truth feels dangerous. There are days when simply standing in your presence feels like a risk. But Love doesn’t bargain with safety.

Love remembers who you are, even when you forget.

Love steadies the breath, softens the heart, and calls the soul forward—not to fight, but to embody truth.

Not to win… but to witness.

I am about to step into the arena.

I have written a book about what Love would say to a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. It’s a fictional story that highlights the consequences of choosing fear or allowing Love to speak. I didn’t write the book to persuade or take a position. I wrote it to show that we have forgotten Love is a part of the conversation.

And yes, I'm concerned about adding my voice to the conversation.

But fear has become my teacher, not my master.

When Charlie's voice was silenced yesterday, something in me became more determined to let mine ring clear with the voice of Love.

You have a decision to make.

We are being asked to decide between fear or love.

Will you let fear dictate your voice,or will you allow Love speak through you?

There are many different meanings and interpretations about what love means. I am not talking about love that is sentimental, passive, or avoids conflict to stay comfortable.

I’m talking about Divine Love—the fierce, ancient, radiant kind that is always available, to every person on the planet.

You can experience Divine Love whenever you still your mind, quiet your emotions, and calm your nervous system. For me, meditation is the path I follow to be with Divine Love.

As you sit with the energy of Divine Love, it becomes presence. And you begin to see the world through eyes grounded in love, not fear.

The world is loud right now. It feels chaotic and uncontrollable. There’s nothing we can do about the state of the world, because the only condition we can control is ourselves and our perceptions.

What everyone aches for is your Love-led voice.

Here’s what I’m practicing today:

* I’m pausing before I speak, and asking: “Is this Love, or is this fear?”

* I’m blessing my throat, my spine, and my heart before I post anything.

* I’m remembering that sovereignty doesn’t mean standing alone—it means standing in alignment.

* I’m letting Love be my filter, compass, and voice.

Because Love is not the absence of fear. It’s the decision to show up anyway, anchored in something deeper.

To your presence,

Kathryn
