When we resent others we are living in the past, re-creating it, re-victimizing ourselves, and destroying our present moments, making ourselves miserable, angry and bitter. And: When we attack others with our resentments, we don't like ourselves for it, even if we feel justified. And so we diminish ourselves and our self-esteem by hanging on to our grievances.
