Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing the expected timeline for the newly announced, highly anticipated HBO Max reboot of the Harry Potter series--since we all want to know--WHEN are we going to be able to see this thing!?!

Well, in its original medium as novels, the Harry Potter series took readers on a seven-year journey that revolved around Harry's magical education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From the age of 11 to the time he turned 18, Harry went from a neglected orphan with untidy black hair to a globally celebrated wizard...with untidy black hair.

And while the narrative of the story itself spanned seven years throughout the course of seven books, the publications of the novels themselves were actually released over an entire decade, with the first novel, The Philosopher's Stone, coming out in 1997 and the final book, The Deathly Hallows, being released 10 years later in 2007.
