Series: More Than Words
Message: When You Can’t Change A Thing

Know that GOD CAN.

(Matthew 19:26) (NIV)Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Trust in GOD ALONE.

(Psalm 20:6-8) (ESV)6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
(Psalm 18:1-6,16-18) (NIV)1I love you, Lord, my strength. 2The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3
I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. 4The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. 5
The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. 6 In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. 16
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. 17He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. 18They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support.

Rely on a NEVER CHANGING FATHER.

(Malachi 3:6) (NLT) "I am the LORD, and I do not change."....
(James 1:16-17) (NLT)16So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. 17
Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

Stay out of GOD'S WAY.

(John 3:30) (NLT)He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

PRAY & THANK GOD about everything.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) (NIV)16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:4-7) (NIV)4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Make God's word your SOURCE OF TRUTH.

(Psalm 33:4) (NLT)For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.

(Proverbs 30:5) (NLT)Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
(John 8:32) (NIV)Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
(Psalm 119:105) Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
(Psalm 1:1-3) (NIV)1Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day
and night. 3That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

HOLD NOTHING BACK from God.

(Hebrews 12:1-2) (NIV) 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

(James 4:6-10) (NIV)6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come nea
