People make friendships, some of which last a lifetime, whereas others are short-lived. In fact, Sociologist Gerald Mollenhorst claimed that you lose about half of your close network members every seven years. Evolutionary psychologist Robin Dunbar suggests that people can have up to 150 meaningful social relationships at once (which includes family and friends), and only about 5 of them are close friends.
