Where Did It Begin?

Listen Later

As a child playing with friends, you never really stop playing when you fall and bump your knee. The wound doesn't seem like it's bad, it's just a little scrape, so you think.

You continue to play, and go on, until you get home, and undress, and find that the scrape, was really a deep cut, and you never felt the blood, because your mind was focused on other things. Like maybe the ice cream truck, you didn't want to leave your friends because you were having so much fun, and you didn't want to be alone, so you never attended to the cut or wound, and it was never properly addressed from the beginning,

What happens to a wound or cut that is not cared for appropriately?

It gets infected, and the more you ignore it, the worse it gets, the pain starts to creep back in once you hit it slightly or you rubbed it accidently. You never noticed how painful it was until you focused on it. So, you try to work on it yourself, with all the home remedies and nothing seems to work. It looks like it's trying to heal, it has a scab on it, but you hit it and the scab lifts and you see all this yellow yucky stuff inside. Guess what that is, it's an infection, and if you're not careful it will flow into your bloodstream and contaminate the rest of your body causing more health issues.

This is the same way with the hurt or betrayal of the heart. You try not to make a big deal about it, you go through life as if nothing happened, until you find yourself in a similiar situation, and that pain you felt causes you to act out with someone who never inflicted pain on you. It's a warning system that alerts you to impending danger, but you have to ask yourself. Is it truly a threat? Or is it that wound that never was attended to from the beginning? You never talked about it, because of your pride, you didn't want anyone to know just how hurt you were, and you didn't want that person to feel like they had an edge over you. So, you begin to stuff your feelings and you become proficient at stuffing and walking away from things that will remind you of that wound.

In order to get past the pain, you must acknowledge it, just ignoring it will not make it go away, and it will not heal unless it is treated. So now you have to figure out where did it all begin?

Here are a few scriptures that helped me in my healing process.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.

Binds meaning to tie up the wound, God is taking care of your wound as it should have been.

Psalm 30:2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

If you can not talk to anyone about your hurt or your wound, you can cry out to your Heavenly Father for healing. When I finally understood this, I cried out to the Lord for everything that hurt me even those past hurts that I never wanted to relive.

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

A wound gets infected and spreads throughout your body causing more infection, and disease of your heart. The Lord wants to heal you from that wound if you allow him to. He can heal you from all manner of sickness and disease, his word just said it.

Isaiah 61:1 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

Now hear this. Ask yourself these questions:

Do you want to be free from the wound, and the pain it has inflicted in your life?

Do you want to be set free? The Word of God is the answer for those of you that believe.

Ask yourself this. How has the wounds of your past directed your life? How have they affected you? What are you willing to do, to get past it? I know for myself, I have had some wounds that hurt me to the core of my being, and I didn't think that I would ever see the light of day, But, I took the time to just pray and to ask God to lead and guide me, and help me with my issues and hurt that I sustained, and it was hard at first, because it was from people who you'd never think would hurt you, but guess what? Here I am today, able to talk to you and I can honestly say that I am healed from those wounds. You know, I just want to be able to help others, with my testimony, with things that I went through. I just want you to be free like I am. So, with that being said.
