When you read about death in the Old Testament and the New Testament, you'll soon notice something strange. In the OT, people go to their "fathers," they go to Sheol. Sheol? What's a Sheol? And in the NT, when people die, Paul says they go to be with God in heaven. WAIT? Is the Bible inconsistent? Is there a mistake? Nope!
