Jason Landry, a 21-year-old Texas State University student, disappeared under mysterious circumstances on December 13, 2020, while driving from his apartment in San Marcos to his hometown of Missouri City, Texas, for the holiday break. Landry's journey took an unexpected and unexplained turn as he neared Luling, Texas. His car, a silver Nissan Altima, was found abandoned early the next morning on Salt Flat Road, a remote area outside Luling. The vehicle had crashed, with its lights on and keys still in the ignition, but there were no signs of Jason at the scene.Investigators pieced together the timeline leading up to the crash. Jason had been using the Waze app for navigation, but switched to Snapchat shortly before his car veered off the gravel road. The crash, which appeared to be a single-car accident, raised more questions than answers. Items belonging to Jason, including his backpack, phone, and wallet, were found inside the vehicle, while his clothing was located approximately 900 feet away. Despite extensive searches by law enforcement and volunteers, no trace of Jason has been found.Over time, authorities have pursued various leads, including reviewing his digital footprint and analyzing his cell phone data. Investigators suspect that Jason survived the crash but may have become disoriented and wandered away. Search dogs traced his scent for a short distance from the crash site before losing it.
