Over the past few weeks we have been looking at the church gathered. On Sunday mornings, and at other times during the week, the church gathers under the name of Christ. We sing together, pray together, sit under the authority of God’s word together, and give together. But where is the church between Sundays? Is it frozen in time till we meet again? We gather to build up each other up, to spur each other one, so we can scatter into the mission field. This is called the Scattered Church. The Scattered Church is Christ-followers doing ministry outside the church building’s walls. They are actively engaging in the mission field through their work, families, and extra-curricular activities. We need the Gathered Church and the Scattered Church. We cannot have one without the other. Today we will look at how we live as the scattered church.
