Thank you for spending time with Malaz and me today. I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and learn about his delicious pivots.
And thank you so much Malaz for sharing your insights and life pivots with us today.
My key take aways from our chat:
Although Malaz originally wanted to be a lawyer and then became a business person and moved from Syria to Dubai and Saudi Arabia, he always had a passion for chocolate.
What started out as a hobby with his family and friends became a home-based business when he and his family moved to Canada. He built on his love of chocolate and took courses to learn more.
So far he has learned – dealing with people is very enjoyable and when you do something from your heart, people will recognize it. When you are doing something you love, you will be more energized and motivated to continue. There is a special kind of power that resides in you when you are doing what you love.
He went from working in the automotive industry to becoming Ottawa’s Willy Wonka – and he knows that everything – from cars to chocolate is about customer service.
He had a lot of fun choosing the names of his exquisite chocolate treats, and was especially busy during Ramadan, Easter, graduation and wedding seasons.
What’s next for him – stores in Toronto, Montreal and I hope, all over Canada.
His motivational words – Believe in Yourself. He wakes up in the morning very excited to get to the store – that is what happens when you are doing something you love.
Thank you Malaz for this exceptionally mouth-watering chat! I can’t wait for my next visit to your delightful store at 1666 Bank Street by Alta Vista. It’s such a very special place!
I am excited to welcome you to the Playground Project group on FB – the link is in the show notes.
Please join me again for next week’s episode with another fabulous mystery guest!
Thank you to the amazing team at Ottawa Food Bank! The link is in the show notes as well.
Looking forward to hanging out again next week. Until then, please be good to yourself, to others, to animals and the environment.
Have a great week and see you again next week, when we will jump into the future together!
