Which financial professional do I need? This is a fairly common question. Financial counselors, financial coaches, financial therapists, and financial planners all serve you and your money. However, they serve from different lens. I will attempt to share differences and similarities between each of these professions in today's episode.

**Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) offered through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE). Certifying organization is National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA).
**Financial Coach has many designations. One of them is Financial Fitness Coach (FFC) offered through Sage Financial Solutions.
**Financial Planner has many designations. One of them, the gold standard, is Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP) offered through Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
**Financial Therapist has many designations. Typically a social worker (Licensed Master Social Worker, Certified Forensic Social Worker, etc.), psychologist, or therapist will train as a financial coach and/or financial counselor in order to serve clients' financial and emotional needs. There is also the Certified Financial Behavior Specialist (FBS) designation offered through the Financial Psychology Institute.
The purpose of the Dr. Sev Talks Money podcast is to educate and empower people so they maximize their money superpower and increase their money IQ.
