Did you play tug-of-war as a child? Maybe you have even played tug-of-war as an adult? One perspective of tug-of-war is not to get pulled over to the other side. Of course, there is another perspective: pulling the other side over to your side. 

We find ourselves in a very real tug-of-war in both the earthly and spiritual realms. As Paul states in 2 Corinthians 4:8, “We are hard-pressed on every side.”. 

 We cannot afford to bounce from side to side in this battle. We must learn how to hold the line and see God bring the victory.
