wonderful
If you search shelves for civil war era books, this is a keeper. It's a steady read, rich with history and rich with indepth looks at the people of the era. What they think and feel as they proceed with this horribly devastating time. I don't own it, it was a library read......but will buy one for my keeper shelf! I wish there were a sequel as I would like to know what happened to various characters........

Excellent book. Love the author. The service was wonderful, and arrived in excellent condition
doesn't live up to potential
the author has devised an intriguing plot, the characters are well developed and the individual scenes hold together well. However, there is very little of romance in the story. The focus is on how the heroine spys for the union. How could such potential have been allowed to go to waste. It seems to me as if the editor could have saved the book if a little direction were given as to how more of the love story could have been woven in. The elements are all there but they just don't jel.
