Some people claim that we can be Christians without necessarily becoming disciples. I wonder, then, why the last thing Jesus told us was to go into the world, making disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that He commanded? You’ll notice that He didn’t add, “But hey, if that’s too much to ask, tell them to just become Christians—you know, the people who get to go to heaven without having to commit to anything.

We talk of the second coming; half the world has never heard of the first.

We are awash in Christian content, much of it excellent content—Bible podcasts, devotional apps, and of course your social threads. But content about Jesus is not the same as communion with Jesus. It’s often a distraction.

Jesus, I recognize that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and place my trust in You as my Lord and Savior. Please receive me now. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
