Hey Guys,
Welcome to episode 12 of the Whiskey Flix Podcast. We decided to switch things up a little bit this week by doing a movie and beer pairing, as opposed to our usual movie and whiskey pairing. To celebrate the opening week of baseball we chose to pair “The Sandlot” with Stone IPA. We thought the two were a match made in heaven.
Stone IPA Review –
This beer is the quintessential west coast style IPA. Or as Stone puts it, “The Iconic West Coast Style IPA”. While we all agree it’s a little pretentious to put that on your bottle, we really can’t disagree with the statement. This IPA is the one that you compare all other west coast style IPA’s to. It is a bitter hop bomb that coats your pallet with layers of dewy pine and dank hops. We absolutely love this beer. With the beer market being absolutely over saturated with different kinds of IPAs, Stone IPA is always a reliable, delicious option.

That’s it for us this week. Make sure you join us next week as we continue our summer beer pairings. We’ll also be celebrating another classic film’s anniversary next week, we’ll be pairing “Caddyshack” and Sam Adams Summer Ale. Until then… Cheers!
Hey Everyone,
Welcome to another episode of the Whiskey Flix Podcast! This week we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film “Airplane”, and review Knob Creek Bourbon. We were very excited to talk about this hilarious comedy classic and hope you guys enjoy our commentary. With that said let’s jump into the whiskey review.
Knob Creek Bourbon –
We’ve seemed to have gotten ourselves in a trend of drinking big name brand bourbons and unfortunately, they’ve started to blend together on our pallets. Knob Creek is a pretty standard bourbon that sits right at that $30 price point we’ve become accustom to here on Whiskey Filx. Knob Creek offers up flavors of dried fruits, vanilla, and spiced oak. As a group we decided that we were spinning our tires a bit with our whiskey choices after a third straight week of what we considered another average whiskey (but who cares what we think?). Make sure you check out the podcast for our official review of Knob Creek.

Alright, Alight, Alright,
What’s going on everyone? Welcome to another edition of the Whiskey Flix Podcast. On this week’s episode we discuss the cult classic film “Dazed and Confused”, while drinking Wild Turkey Longbranch.
Wild Turkey Longbranch Review –
A collaboration between Matthew McCognauhey and Wild Turkey that we thought was a great pairing for this episode. This bourbon offers up a ton of sweetness on the pallet, with notes of vanilla, sweet oak, and a velvety mouth coating finish. This whiskey had a few different flavors and aromas to offer, that we had a fun time discussing. Make sure you check out the video for our official rating!

Hey Everyone,
Welcome to the newest edition of the Whiskey Flix Podcast! This week, the three of us discuss the comedy movie “Game Night”, while drinking Bulleit Rye. For a comedy podcast, this was ironically the first comedy film we’ve talked about and had a blast doing so. We also chose the weekend of National Bourbon Day to try our first rye whiskey. As always, we ask that you hit that subscribe button and head over and follow us on social media!
Bulleit Rye Review – Bulleit Rye lets you know that you’re drinking a rye whiskey right away. There is a ton of peppery spice up front, that finishes with a lingering candy sweetness. We all agreed that this was a fantastic sipping whiskey, but we also recommend using Bulleit Rye in Manhattan’s or an Old-Fashioned. Make sure you check out the video for our official review of Bulleit Rye!
-Whiskey Flix We hope you guys enjoyed this week’s episode! Next week, to kick off the official start of summer, we’ll be watching “Dazed and Confused”, while we drink Wild Turkey Longbranch. Until then… Cheers!

Basil Hayden’s Bourbon Review – I think it is safe to say we were all very impressed with what this bourbon had to offer. We got a lot of spicy fruit and charred oak on the nose and tasted sweet notes of cinnamon with peppery spice that lingered on the finish. This medium bodied bourbon made itself known on the palette and we couldn’t help but want to pair this tasty whiskey with a fresh slice of apple pie. Make sure you check out our official rating of Basil Hayden’s in the video!

Hey Everyone,
This is episode #6 of the Whiskey Flix Podcast! On this week’s episode we talk about the film “The Karate Kid”, while we taste Suntory Toki Whisky. This was our first Japanese whisky we’ve tried on the show, so we hope you guys like the review. Make sure you guys check us out on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date with all things Whiskey Flix!
Suntory Toki Whisky Review – On this week’s episode we tasted Suntory Toki Japanese Whisky. We were immediately drawn to how light the color of the whisky was. This translated to a very light bodied whisky that offered a couple of different tasting notes. We experienced some fruit on the nose, while tasting a lot of nutty and fruit flavored notes. Overall, we agreed this was a great entry level Japanese whisky. Check out the video to see our official rating of Suntory Toki.

Woodford Reserve Bourbon Review –
This week’s whiskey of choice was one of Mike’s original favorites, Woodford Reserve. We found the nose to be a little strong and boozy, with subtle notes of vanilla and oak. We tasted a hint of citrus, as well as a bit of spice, vanilla, and charred oak. There was very little, to no burn on the finish. We all agreed this bourbon rounded out very nicely. This is a solid bourbon for the price point and is something that we will definitely buy again. Make sure you check out our official rating in the video!

We hope you guys enjoy the new 30 minute format. Make sure you hit those links and follow us on our social media pages!
Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon Review - This bourbon was fantastic. It was a unanimous vote. On the nose we got a lot of fruit. The palette was a mix of caramel, toffee, and other sweet flavors. We absolutely loved this whiskey, and for the price... you cannot complain at all. A $30 bourbon, that drinks like a $50 dollar whiskey. We recommend enjoying this bourbon with a nice cheese plate. Check out the video to see our official rating!

Hey Guys,
This is episode #3 of Whiskey Flix! On this week's episode we review Larceny Bourbon, while we discuss the classic film "The Shawshank Redemption". Let us know what you think about our reviews in the comments. After the episode make sure you head over and follow us on Twitter and Instagram!
Larceny Bourbon Review - The bourbon of choice this week was Larceny Bourbon. We liked how the theme of the bourbon we chose tied in with the film we were watching! Other than that there wasn't too much to get excited about regarding this bourbon. It had a strong nose, with notes of spicy fruit. The palette was a little underwhelming for us. Simple vanilla and oaky notes that we agreed would do better in a cocktail, than on its own (that didn't stop us from drinking A LOT of it on its own). Check out the episode to see our official rating for Larceny Bourbon.
- Whiskey Flix Enjoy the episode!
Next week we will be tasting Noble Oak Double Oak, while talking about The Accountant starring Ben Affleck!
Hey Everyone! Welcome to episode #2 of the Whiskey Flix Podcast! This week we discuss the new Netflix movie Extraction while drinking Eagle Rare Bourbon. Enjoy listening to our comical takes on the bourbon, the movie, and Australia!
Here's our review of Eagle Rare Bourbon - This week the three of us tasted Eagle Rare Bourbon, distilled by Buffalo Trace Distillery. This whiskey offers aromas of orange peel and charred oak on the nose. As a group, we agreed the nose was a little “in your face” with its bold aromas. The taste is very dry, with a little bit of rye spiciness. We agreed this bourbon was something we would definitely drink again! See episode #2 to get our official rating for Eagle Rare! -Whiskey Flix
