Text: 1 Kings 19:9-15

  1. Elijah is running in fear from Jezebel.
  • He finds himself in a self-willed mode by asking God to take His life, for he is no better than his fathers. He was in deep depression (maybe because of His weariness of ministry).
  • The angel commands him to eat and then travel—forty days to Mount Horeb.
  • God finds him in a cave. And begins to require of why he is there!
  • God was saying to Elijah: “Stop complaining and grieving over your seeming failures. Get back to work.” This command is undoubtedly competent counsel.
  • What we can learn from this:
    1. The place we are in with God!
  • The plan that God gives to us!
  • The power we have to “Go”!
