For 40 years the Centers for Disease control intentionally infected adult black men with syphilis without their knowledge or consent. For 40 years, almost the entire medical community knew about this, and advocated for it because they knew that no one would care about these men. The CDC continued to fund and study this disease decades after a cure was known and widely used. Why did they stop this experiment? When did they stop? Did they stop????
