Joshua Shirreffs, was an innocent and naive white teen from Duluth, Minnesota, when he was invited to spend some time in Bishop Nolan’s home. Bishop Nolan had visited their church to speak when Josh was eleven years old. His dad was the pastor. Coming from Duluth where the population is 92% white and 1.6% African American, no one could anticipate what would come out of this cultural exchange. Now 26, Josh returns, this time with reflections and stories about how his visits prepared him in unexpected beneficial ways to enter adulthood as a much broader person. Listen as they talk candidly about race, culture and trans-generational relationships.
