This Christmas, I join with the authors of the New Testament in calling Jesus “the light of the world,” but I am also reminded that Jesus told his followers, “You are the light of the world.” So Jesus’ coming was not just about revealing to us the radiant light of God. Jesus was telling us, “I brought the light to you so that you could also reveal the light of God to the world. So love more and hate less. Forgive more and resent less. Give more and take less. Laugh more and cry less. Appreciate more and complain less.
