White House Sets Course for INSTITUTIONALIZING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES!

Listen Later

Brittany Page discusses new reporting from Bloomberg on Stephen Miller's latest push for eugenics policies under the Trump Administration, this time in the form of a DOJ memo laying the groundwork for institutionalization for people with disabilities over community-based care. Stephen Miller, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, denies involvement in producing the memo, but his fingerprints are all over it. The Trump DOJ eugenics memo argues that states do not need to follow decades of Supreme Court precedent under the Olmstead Mandate and can opt for institutionalization rather than providing in-home or community-based care for people with disabilities.
