A special edition Lectio for the Whitsun Ember Days -- this is for the second set of Ember Day propers. Falling on the Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday after Pentecost, the Whitsun Ember Days in 2023 fall on May 31, June 2, and June 3 -- although the Feast of the Visitation supersedes the Ember fast on 31st May.

The passages we will read are I Samuel 3:1–10, Psalm 63:1–8, Ephesians 4:11–16, and Matthew 9:35–38. We've got two (!) poems on deck as well: "This Breathless Earth" by Malcolm Guite, and "The Harvest Moon" by Ted Hughes.
