The one that is needed to help fight COVID-19 on the global scale is an easy to use no lab based test. In, a media update the WHO announced such a test and plan to roll it out to underdeveloped or low-income countries. By making a test like this available to lower income countries who do not have the lab resources at the ready, more people globally can will be tested and treated for the virus. The test reacts with antigens and will produce results in minutes instead of days. For poorer countries this helps lower the cost to save lives. This new test is just one the tool developed through the ACT Accelerator.
