It's not just a time period before the Renaissance in Europe; it's a time period that everyone experiences for some part of their lives. This world is not perfect, and one of the symptoms of being a human is experiencing darkness. We all see it in different ways and to varying degrees, but it is inevitable: there will be dark times.

We recapped the dark age in our lives, which was a 4 year span from 2012 to 2016 where things didn't look so good. Seth opens up about his domino-effect depression after leaving college and living at home, and Jenna recaps her feelings as the long distance girlfriend watching him lose his sense of self. 

But truly, there is winter to make you appreciate spring; there is darkness to make you love the light. We remain thankful for the times of trial and waiting, because God ultimately had a plan for us.
