In Matthew 6 Jesus’ warns us about performative righteousness, doing good things to be seen rather than to honor God. Jesus doesn’t condemn generosity or obedience; He confronts our motives. The real question isn’t where or how we do good, but why we do it. When applause becomes the goal, applause becomes the reward, but God offers something deeper, a life with Him.
