“I started to see that so often saying ‘yes’ to others was saying ‘no’ to myself.”
I often ask women to tell me who they are without speaking about their jobs or their families.
This is an extremely hard question for women to answer.
The reason why is because our identities are so wrapped up in who we are for others. Through this focus outward we have lost track of who we truly are.
There is a path back to yourself, though. A path where you begin saying ‘yes’ to yourself instead of ‘yes’ to everyone else. It starts by setting down the identities you play for others, stepping away from codependency, and stepping into a balanced state of interdependence. Through this self-love you can begin to welcome your true self back into your heart.
