The law of sin and death refers to the Mosaic Law. The law revealed God’s standard, it revealed our shortcomings, it revealed the consequences of falling short, and it even revealed our innate proclivity or inclination to reject God and defy His standard. The law's purpose was to expose our moral failure and lead us to Christ, who fulfilled its requirements and offered life through His sacrifice.
