QUESTIONS THAT JESUS ASKED                                                                    

 

WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

 

Matthew 16:13-19   When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" 14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." 15 "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."   17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.   19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."     NIV

 

YOU ARE THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD!!!!

TO SAY THIS WENT AGAINST THE CROWD.

John 15:18-19   If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.    NLT

TO SAY THIS OPENED UP MORE FOR JESUS TO SHOW THEM.

Matthew 16:21    From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.    NLT

When you open up your heart to God, He will show you things greater than you can imagine or dream!!!

TO SAY THIS THEY HAD TO HAVE OPEN EYES AND AN OPEN HEART.

Matthew 16:17-18    Jesus replied, "You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. 18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”    NLT
