“Gospel” — by definition, according to the Bible, is the “good news” of Jesus Christ: His life, death, and resurrection, and the promise of salvation to all who believe.
We may have to update the term "The Gram" to a more fitting reference... The Grammy! It seems more and more Gospel artists are being recognized by the secular industry — or is it that Gospel artists are now seeking recognition from it?
That begs the question: Is the music truly reaching the masses... or is it merely spreading a sound, not the Gospel?
Are more artists starting to separate their music from Christianity altogether? Is the label “Christian artist” too constricting for the creative freedom they desire — or is it just too inconvenient for mainstream appeal?
Makes you wonder... is Hip Hop becoming the new Gospel?
