I need to ask a question of myself and of you today. How we answer this question is crucial to our relationship with God through faith in Christ. Here is the question: Who is in charge in your life?" If you answered God and/or Jesus Christ, there is a second question that must answered. Here is the question: Do we come into the presence of God with fear and reverence? This is the issue which Solomon addresses in this passage.

There are  two main commands in this passage which we must take seriously when you and I come into the presence of the God of the universe: 1) We need to come to worship with hearts prepared and ready to have an encounter with the living God; 2) We need to fulfill the promises we make to God.
