If Jesus really is who He claimed to be—the promised Messiah who was also God who became a human who died but was raised from the dead—then what He did wasn’t just a really cool historical event that set into motion a massive religious movement that is still going strong today. There was a purpose behind it. The question then becomes, if Jesus was indeed God, why did He become a human? Why would an eternal, infinite, all powerful, perfect being give up His power just to become human, live an ordinary, simple life, do good things, just to end up dying?
