It is not uncommon for those mental images to shape the way you think about Jesus, and the way you respond to Him in your life. In my experience, most people have a variety of misconceptions of who Jesus was and is - from the way He looked, to the interactions He had with people. Episode #2 – In this episode Jesus challenges the teacher of Israel on his knowledge of scripture and the way to heaven. Nicodemus, a high ranking religious leader has his theological world turned upside down in a single conversation. At one point into the conversation he pauses and considers the implications of what Jesus is saying and asks Jesus, “how can these things be”? To believe what Jesus was saying meant that his current understanding of the pathway to God was completely flawed. Jesus uses a powerful event from the Old Testament book of Numbers to challenge Nicodemus on his views. Jesus was very clear on how people can gain eternal life.
