We are finally in the New Testament! The first place that the Holy Spirit is mentioned in the NT is in Matthew 1:18 and we see he is the one who put Jesus in Mary‘s womb. 

He is the giver of physical and spiritual life! Here are the scriptural references I used: Matthew 1:18-20, Job 33:4, Job 34:14-15, and 2 Corinthians 3:5-6

Just a heads up I briefly mentioned Calvinism/reformed theology/the doctrines of grace in regards to regeneration/being born again. I don’t hold to Calvinism/reformed theology but I wanted to be clear that I don’t believe any Christian plays a part in their salvation in terms of meriting salvation because of faith (synergism is a word that Calvinists use to describe that God rewards us for our faith).

I realize the topic of Calvinism is controversial but this conversation about salvation is of utmost importance. The Holy Spirit is the one who gives us this new birth that the scriptures talk about in the old and new testaments.
