I read in one of the prosperity preachers booklet that after Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again that we weren't supposed to have any more poor people but rather all men are supposed to be rich. I put that book down. Even Jesus himself said that "you will always have the poor with you," you remember that text when Judas was complaining about Mary using that expensive ointment to anoint Jesus feet. Which could have been sold and given to the poor. But like Judas we find that people even to this day use the poor as an excuse to collect money and when you look deeper into their purse/operation, you find out that sometimes we have wealthy people at the helm of that organization getting wealthier. (John 12:3-8) read it. 
In fact right here in Las Vegas we had a wealthy lady in a wheelchair in the middle of the center divider of a busy intersection taking offerings from ever day people and just so happened a police officer pulls up who knew her and ask her what are you doing out here? Telling her it was dangerous. "She said I'm collect money for my non-profit organization." now remember what I said in the beginning she was a wealthy woman, she could have given of her own wealth, but rather she was willing to risk her life and collect other people's money, to give to her charity. Wow, talking of the love of money, some even worship their money. I don't think they're thinking about their Lazarus or Jesus Christ. Jesus was spot-on when He said "when the Son of Man comes shall He find faith on the Earth?" (Luke 18:8) paraphrased read it.
