Sometimes we’re desperate for God’s presence, longing for a breakthrough, and yet it feels like nothing is happening. One day I realized something simple but powerful—the lyrics of the worship music I was listening to were all about me. “All my words fall short.” “I’ve got nothing left.” Song after song focused on my feelings, my struggles, my perspective. But God already made it all about us when He sent Jesus to die for us. He gave everything. Now who is making it all about Him?

When worship shifted in my life to be centered on who He is—His glory, His majesty, His goodness—I started to experience His presence in ways I never had before. Breakthroughs happened not because I worked harder, but because the focus was finally on Him where it belongs. If you’ve been feeling stuck, pay attention to the lyrics. Worship is about Jesus.
