Resistance Training is for everyone!
I’ve coached kids who were just starting gymnastics at around 18 months as well as various aged children through summer programs that educate them to learn about exercise + incorporate resistance training in a SAFE way.
I’ve also worked with some awesome cool 80years+ humans who were trying to improve their overall quality of life. It is adaptive and quite literally for everyone.
Your weights SHOULD be heavier than your backpack, diaper bag, bags of groceries, and so on. The goal of resistance training should be and CAN be to make life EASIER by lifting and that won’t happen with just 5-8lb dumbbells.
💪🏼Body weight movements can be a great place to BEGIN, but at some point you likely will need more.
