Who was Nimrod?

Listen Later

In this episode, we look at a Nimrod. Jasher 7 His father was "Cush the son of Ham, the son of Noah, took a wife in those days in his old age, and she bares a son, and they called his name Nimrod, saying, At that time the sons of man again began to rebel and transgress against Elohim, and the child grew up, and his father loved him exceedingly, for he was the son of his old age. 24 And the garments of skin which Elohim made for Adam and his wife when they went out of the garden, were given to Cush". He spearheaded the building of the Tower of Babel. He instituted the first organized form of false religion after the flood. The name Babylon is synonymous with the tower of Babel and Nimrod. (Genesis10: 9-10; 11:4). He planned to storm heaven and dethrone Elohim. His name is mentioned in the Book of Genesis and Books of Chronicles. Nimrod was described as a king in the land of Shinar.
